Where to Start

True, authentic, SIMPLE leadership starts within the individual. Developing personal leadership skills first before working with groups helps a person to eventually become an effective leader. Understanding self is key. If a person knows their likes and dislikes, their inner strengths, their core values, and what really makes them tick, then they can have a better feel for how they want to "lead" and what they need to do to accomplish "leaderSHIP!" Their actions project who they are as an individual. If they participate in activities that clarify this necessary understanding of self, then they are ready to develop additional skills that collectively equip them to "lead."
